1. The government has established the Food Processing Fund (FPF), with a corpus of approximately US$ 265 million within the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). This fund aims to provide affordable credit to designated food parks and food processing enterprises located within these parks.
2. India maintains its position as the second-largest global producer of a wide range of agricultural products, including wheat, rice, cotton, sugar, farmed fish, fruits, vegetables, tea, and more.
3. The livestock sector, primarily driven by dairy, contributes over a quarter of the agricultural GDP and serves as a significant source of income, especially for 70% of rural families, many of which are headed by women.
4. The agricultural sector has witnessed a substantial increase in investments, with a cumulative FDI inflow of US$ 2,708.72 million between April 2000 and December 2022.
